Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
with Lancaster County Conservancy
The mission of the Lancaster County Conservancy is to save and steward the ecosystems and landscapes upon which we depend for food, clean water and air, economic and public health, and the restoration of soul and spirit.
The Conservancy has plenty of activities for conservation minded people.
Outdoor Activities – tree planting and maintenance, trail blazing and maintenance, erecting signs, trash cleanups, invasive plant removal, habitat restoration, special projects support, assisting with environmental education.
Clerical Duties – helping with bulk mailings, stuffing brochures, making phone calls.
Promotion - helping with public presentations, staffing a booth at a trade show or fair, or speaking to individuals about the organization.
Education - help with school site visits by leading or assisting with activities.
Serving on a committee:
- Land Stewardship – Responsible for the care and upkeep of Conservancy properties. Meets monthly.
- Land Protection – Responsible for all matters relating to the acquisition of land and/or conservation easements. Meets monthly.
- Development – Overall responsibility for fundraising, promotion of the organization, and special events. Meets monthly.
- Nominating – Responsible for selecting slate of prospective members and officers for the Board of Directors. Meets periodically.
- Finance – Provides advice and oversight pertaining to the finances of the organization. Meets every two months.
