Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
with Lancaster Science Factory

The Lancaster Science Factory’s mission is to create an environment for learning which helps children develop curiosity, think creatively and build confidence as they learn the principles of science and the application of science in engineering and technology. Highly interactive exhibits, workstations and mini-labs offer “open-ended” learning experiences with opportunities for visitors to experiment and create.  The following opportunities are available for immediate participation.

Exhibit Floor Volunteer: Assist guests in exploring over 50 interactive exhibits. Volunteers are needed Weekdays and Weekends. 

Science Café Volunteer: Conduct hands-on science experiments at our walk-up science café counter. Materials and instructions are provided. Volunteers are needed Weekdays and Weekends.

Community Outreach Volunteer: Help take the show on the road! Attend community events and promote the Science Factory by handing out flyers and program information as well as conducting small, hands-on science activities.  Outreach events are primarily on Saturdays.

Cub Scout Programming Volunteer: Attend Cub Scout 2nd Saturday events (second Saturday of the month) from 3pm-7:30pm and help Webelo Scouts (5th and 6th grade) learn about engineering. No engineering experience required!

Education Volunteer: Help the education coordinator prepare and implement educational programming at the Science Factory.

Office/Clerical Volunteer: Looking for office help Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm. This could include: filing, copying, faxing, emailing, bulk mailing, working in excel, taking inventory.

Volunteer Requirements: Age 16+, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, Completion of Volunteer Orientation, Ability to volunteer at least 2 shifts per month, Friendly & Positive Attitude, Interest in helping children develop skills in the field of Science & Technology.
