Natasha Henderson’s career with Apria Healthcare has her travelling all over the country, but the Lancaster County native was eager to call Lancaster City home.
“I knew I wanted to spend some time living in the city,” Natasha said. “I love Lancaster because it has all the benefits and walkability of a city but it isn’t overwhelming. You won’t get lost here and you will always run into someone you know.”
She decided to take the plunge and purchase a home in Lancaster City last year after struggling to find her dream space on the rental market. What she found herself with was a home that needed to be totally renovated – a challenge she happily accepted. “We completely gutted [the house] to create a modern open concept. Our goal was to emphasize the natural light and give an old Lancaster home a new feel,” she said.
Now that the major renovations are largely complete, Natasha loves spending time in her bright and airy kitchen. “It gets direct sunlight in the morning and just glows!” she said. However, the next item on her to-do list is to create a relaxing backyard retreat.
Despite the endless work that comes with buying and renovating a home, Natasha enjoys implementing her own creative vision and looks forward to continuing to personalize her space. “Maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll get a rooftop deck!”
When she’s not completing a home improvement project or dreaming up the next one, Natasha enjoys walking her dogs in the neighborhood and visiting her favorite spot, Cafe Di Vetro.
